Acceptance

By accessing or using Media TruthLab ("MTL", "we", "us") at mediatruthlab.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What MTL is

MTL is a fact-checking platform that combines AI-assisted analysis with human editorial review. We publish two types of content:

• Editorial reports — researched and published by MTL editors, following the IFCN Code of Principles.
• AI-generated reports — produced automatically by our pipeline and clearly labeled as such. These go through an independent verification pass before display but are not subject to full editorial review unless promoted by an editor.

MTL does not guarantee the accuracy of any report. Always consult primary sources for matters of public health, safety, law, or finance.

AI content disclaimer

AI-generated fact-checks are produced by large language models and may contain errors, outdated information, or misinterpretations. They are clearly labeled "AI-Generated Report" on every page. MTL expressly disclaims liability for any decisions made based on AI-generated content. If you spot an error, use the "Report a correction" link on the relevant report page.

Using the service

You agree not to:

• Submit claims that are abusive, threatening, unlawful, or designed to harass individuals.
• Attempt to manipulate the pipeline by submitting false context or misleading framing.
• Scrape or programmatically access the service in a way that disrupts normal operation.
• Impersonate another person or organisation in any submission.
• Use the service for any purpose that violates applicable law.

We reserve the right to remove any submission and suspend any account that violates these rules, without notice.

Your submissions

When you submit a claim for fact-checking, you grant MTL a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process, store, and publish the resulting report. You retain ownership of any original content you submit. Do not submit content you do not have the right to share.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. MTL uses one-time passwords (OTP) for public sign-in. Notify us immediately at contact@mediatruthlab.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Intellectual property

MTL editorial reports, the MTL name, and the MTL logo are owned by Media TruthLab. AI-generated reports may be shared freely with attribution to "Media TruthLab (AI-generated)" and a link to the original report URL. Republishing editorial reports requires written permission.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MTL and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on any report published on it. The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

Third-party links

Reports may include links to external sources. MTL is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those sites.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect changes. Continued use of MTL after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
